Spectra Energy New Jersey-New York Natural Gas Pipeline Expansion Project
For the first time in 40 years a new natural gas transmission pipeline has been brought into Manhattan and Hallen Construction was there to get the job done.
Paerdegat Basin Natural Gas Transmission Line
Hallen Construction has recently completed the installation of a 30" steel gas transmission main for National Grid in Brooklyn, NY. On April 21, 2012, after 6 weeks of preparation and nearly a month ahead of schedule, a pipeline was pulled under the ground and across Paerdegat Basin by using the direction drill method of trenchless installation.
Hallen Construction was contracted to spearhead the excavation and installation of about 68 miles of pipe, which originated in Sayreville, New Jersey and terminated in Hicksville, Long Island. The purpose of this massive undertaking was to run conduit and DC electric lines underground so that Long Island can benefit from additional electricity gleaned from the South Atlantic Grid in New Jersey.
The Bronx Metering And Regulating Station
The Bronx Metering and Regulating station is the termination of a 37 mile pipeline that begins in Northport, NY and runs in the Long Island Sound until it makes landfall again in the Hunts Point Area of the Bronx.
Williams Gas Pipeline - TRANSCO - Meter Station, Long Beach, New York
Hallen furnished all labor, material and equipment to remove existing gas regulators and piping. The scope included the replacement of existing meter tube, the removal of existing scrubbers and the replacement with one (1) new scrubber, the removal of an underground condensate tank and its replacement, and the removal of the existing drip blow off tank and other yard piping.
National Grid - Southampton Electric Cable
Hallen provided labor, material and equipment to install 69kV transmission line from Southampton to Bridgehampton substations. The scope of work included trench excavation, backfill and sheeting as required. The receiving, unloading and setting P.C. concrete manholes. Fusing and installation HDPE and concrete pipe. Cable pulling and splicing. Asphalt, concrete and lawn restoration.
NatGrid High Pressure Gas Main Eastern Expansion
Hallen furnished labor, materials and equipment to install several miles of high pressure transmission gas mains in diameters ranging from 6" thru 26". Activities included trench excavation, backfill, sheeting and shoring. In addition, work included tie-ins, valve and fitting installation, pressure tests, permanent asphalt and landscape restoration, the boring and jacking of casing pipe and directional drilling across NYSDOT roads and LIRR tracks. These projects were located in Yaphank, Southampton, Riverhead, Cutchogue, Mattituck and Greenport.
National Grid Greenpoint Facility Remediation
Activities included the furnishing of labor, material and equipment to provide soil erosion and sediment control measures, hot spot excavation of existing soils, load, haul and dispose of contaminated soils, import clean fill, backfill and compact excavated areas and full site restoration.
Buckeye Pipe Line Emergency Response Work
Hallen provides qualified labor, material and equipment on an as need basis for excavation, backfill, and pipeline repairs as requested and directed by Buckeye Pipe Line.
Vacuum Excavation Work
Hallen furnishes labor, material and equipment to externally seal various size cast iron pipe joints on low and medium pressure gas mains using vacuum excavating equipment (known as Keyhole excavation) at various locations in the city of New York, Long Island and Westchester county.
SUNY Downstate Steam Work
Involved the emergency excavation and replacement of underground 10" steam and 6" condensate return lines belowLenox Road and East 34th street in Brooklyn, New York.
